Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained pastor from Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first race, Felix came in second place in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. A year later Felix achieved her very first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making the world junior record doing 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she became the world's youngest champion in 200 meters of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She was consistently among the top three in all events.
